Looks like i'm the only addicted one on this forum then not unless some won't admit like myself they are addicted.
I'm addicted to smoking have been for 30 years don't mind admitting it but if you look through previous posts I've found that addiction can be a touchy subject on here, and I'm not trying to have a dig at any of you with that comment
I definitely have a taste for the finer things in life be that clothes, watches, food, alcohol and now cigars ive smoked since the late 70s (that's a scary thought) father and grandfather's smoked cigars and now like the rest of my life I now want to smoke quality over quantity
No peejay i don't get withdrawal symptoms that i have to smoke a cigar like i said when i joined, i smoke a pipe and cuban cigars as and when
i feel like a smoke. But love reading and talking about cuban cigars and buy a few when i can.
If i could afford to smoke cuban cigars 7 days a week i would.
In my case i'm addicted to cigars that i have to buy as and when the funds are available not boxes and cabinets though.
As in my previous post i said we are obsessed in reading and writing about cigars and addicted in in the buying side of the hobby
to prove my point look at some collections on this forum
I have no problem talking about addiction as a expert. My degree is in heroin addiction and I didn't gain it from a university. I am qualified to talk on the subject and I don't think many here are addicted to buying cigars, it just doesn't make much sense, if one becomes addicted to something all else gets left by the wayside. That being the case we would all be homeless with tons of cigars. I just don't see it, I used to use my money for gear and get food and other necessities where I could and that's addiction. I REALLY don't mind admitting an addiction but I definitely don't have any cigar related addiction and have no plans to allow any whether it be consuming or buying cigars. I think it's the wrong word for what you are explaining. Obsession yes addiction I don't think so. It's like saying "I love Homeland" or "I love bacon" no you don't, you like it a lot.
When it was cigarettes it was addiction. Defiantly.
Cigars its obsession and its as much they buying, reading and talking about them.
Possibly slightly more obsessed with the reading and buying but get more enjoyment out of the smoking
Stage 3. Consummation
At the end of last summer, and the bottom of the humidor gift, I decided that cigars would begin making more than casual appearances in my relaxation. I began to develop a sense of what I generally liked, maduro wrappers and medium-full bodied complex long-fill cigars. I made my first big purchase to reload my humidor, and cigars became a part of my life. I've since made additional purchases to keep my humidor stocked. Since summer, I have smoked cigars about 2-5 times per week, but have often gone 1-3 weeks at a time without partaking of this pleasure. Thus far, my addiction seems to be for cigars, rather than nicotine, because I can go for days without experience any forms of craving or withdrawal. Quite the opposite, when I've "overdone it", my desire for cigars has been sated for awhile and I take a break. This has surprised me, because I was really concerned about becoming dependent upon nicotene.
Bingo! I could handle never getting to smoke a cigar again but not sure what would happen if told couldn't own one!
Sorry lost me there Wigan why own one if you can't smoke it, bit like lap dancing can't see the point of that spend the money but can't do the deed !!!!
