Not sure if anyone else spotted the article in this weekend's FT 'how to spend it' magazine on Figurado Cubans, 'Go Figurado' by Nick Foulkes? It made for a good and interesting read, with a lot of history around the shape (and the recent boom in special regional editions), the skills needed to produce it (only by the highest skilled 'grade 9' rollers in the factories) and its smoking characteristics, and combined that with reviews of taste and flavour (helped by some comments from people like Edward Sahakian).
Recommendations included the now discontinued 2007 San Christobal Muralla (?31) from Sahakian who believes it has aged very well, the 2008 Punch Serie d'Oro No 1 (?22) from Mitchell Orchant at C Cigars ('...describing it as one of the most "outrageously good blends that Punch has made"').
