  • Question: RyJ Robustos 2001 WITHOUT ME bands

I found a few of these in a shop down the beach area in Barcelona but they've no LE bands. I took the chance and took the only four in the shop. They're actually cheaper than Exhibition 4s which I think the seller might have confused them for so I can console myself that I've not lost out

The wrappers are very dark and rough in keeping with the EL program. I'd expect Ex4 to have claro wrappers

Anyone seen older ELs with this anomaly

They look a bit ruff the left hand band is even upside down and all the caps look different shapes some round some flat, could just be the pic though. They should be a bit thicker than a ex4. But the missing bands are a bit concerning

It's only four sticks, not a whole box, give them a burn!

My fault with the upside down band!

Do you remember how rough the wrappers on early ELs were? Black, flame-retardandant, load of 'plimples' on them. Awful looking things....

I've a single Robustos at home so I'll check when I get back... Worth a punt though....

                  No-one seen this before then?

I'm sure the original Partagas Piramides 2000 came out with two types of bands ie the Serie and regular bands.... As did the HdM Piramide 2003. I'm hoping it's just Cuba being Cuba

was it not the 2001 partagas that had too release the first one with with a partagas band second with a series band like the PSDN4.
The piramide was the one that all the suspect boxes that appeared on the market with box dates earlier than people believed they had started to package them think it was something like people believed they were from dic00 and boxes appeared with july and other months on them.

Ah right, was it the 2001s? I thought it was the Piramides (oops!) I still have a few of the Piramide left (fairly bland IMO) and they've got the standard band on them

Just realised... Of course 2000 would have a standard band as they weren't in the Series range

Yeah but that really would be cuba being cuba. Cant remember the box of RE's that either had the wrong marca band on them or wrong country (pretty sure it was the country)
