Just found this on Cigar Aficianado

One of the most counterfeited brands in the world just got harder to fake. The holographic label found on Cohiba’s Behike BHK series is now produced with even more complex imagery than before, making it markedly difficult for counterfeiters to reproduce. | Cigar Aficionado

Am I the only one who thinks another feature will make it harder for the layman to tell the difference?

As long as they don't hike up their prices because of the new bands?
And I think, if someones gonna sell dodgy cigars, there are ways and means around things.
I.e, could they not just reuse these bands on dodgy cigars in dodgy boxes?

?I dunno, just a hair brained idea, from someone with little hair

Problem here was Habanos taking months to confirm the new band leading to a lot of people puzzling over whethey they had fake BHK's.
Think they did a press release last month and said the bands will co-exist for a few months now.

        Interesting RE: fake Behikes

The Cohiba Behike BHK is the hottest Cuban cigar on the market. Cigar Aficionado's reigning Cigar of the Year, the small-production smoke is among the best made in Cuba in decades.Up to now, counterfeits of the cigar have been limited due to the elaborate packaging found on each genuine Behike BHK. | Cigar Aficionado

Couldn't help but look at old pics of mine just to double check

Purchased from reputable UK merchant. Fingers crossed to get another box this year.

        …ah …memories….

It's a nice idea but holograms can be faked just like anything else. Look at football shirts, lots of those have the 'official' holograms on but are knock-offs. As long as there are high-priced desirable items there will be someone who churns out fakes, and sometimes its pretty hard to find any visual difference at all!

Yep, Behikes being so expensive makes them a good target for the serious fakers, as everyone at the Watford herf could see with my "Guess the genuine/fake Behike". Only having a genuine one next to the fake could you quickly spot which was which.

I think this goes without saying any high end item will always be copied no matter how many attempts companies do to stop this

I recently watched a Cuban artisan making keying's in the form of a wooden type Cohiba cigar, alongside him on his bench was a bundle of (IM0) genuine Cohiba bands. I did joke with him as to where he got the bands. Reply-"me no much English" however, he could communicate the price in perfect English

I wonder when the old type Behike bands will be on his bench
