An Odd One Out..

Just picked up a box of Partagas Petit Corona Especiales from Dubai Airport. All seemed to be in order though there is a rogue stick in there which is a larger gauge than the rest. It's about a 45 as opposed to the normal 42. Some pics below, anyone come across this before?

Shouldn't have passed inspections, but then again it is a hand-made product and anomalies do occur from time to time..

Did you take that one out to have a look then put it back? I have had a box of cigars, I took all the sticks out to have a look, then when i tried to put them back in they wouldnt all fit back in because they had all swelled slightly.

a box press is more than mandatory for dress boxes

perhaps they needed to box press it and didn't have the room by only using the cigars there. quality control isn't as good as it should be down south. that's putting it lightly!
try your hand at smoking one regular one. smoking the fattie afterwards. then smoke another regular one the next day
see if they're different and report back

who knows, maybe they accidentally hid some reserva tobacco in there

It must be a QC issue - I just checked the various Partys on Cuban Cigar Website and I don't think there is one of a similar length but different ring gauge

Partagas PCE is 44 RG. That looks to be 46 RG which is Coronas Gorda and there isn't a current production Partagas in that size. It's just a hand rolled f%*k-up, wrong gauge is all .... been cut to the right length and the bands are all applied in-line .... just smoke it and enjoy the extra bit of baccy.

Its flippin completely different! Its a whopper, surely that is a rogue no? To me it looks like a different smoke but may be wrong. These Partagas aren't box pressed though are they? I thought that was when they had a squishes square profile.

It seems to fit well, maybe they've got some over sized boxes and this is their solution
