NO!!! They just put beginners off & make experienced smokers wince, that they wasted their money trying them. If you want similar priced Havanas, try JLP Petit Cazadores or Quintero Panatelas (the latter my my taste but some on here have ginven favourable reviews).Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Agree with Simon (as I'm sure everyone of the forum does), its by far the most disgusting cigar I've ever smoked and wouldn't recommend them in any circumstance
There are lots of cigars I would recommend trying - just look at reviews and tasting notes on various websites and see which one sound most interesting

Well you won't get near to the Monte experience with one that's for sure..... The JLP are better than expected for the price and I heartily recommend them, some cheap Fonseca's too that are nice. If your on a tight budget then NC's like Chinchalero, The Viking, Independencia, Antonio Gimenez, La Invicta, Quorum and Oliva all have cheap as chips sticks that will spank a Guantanamera.... Still not likely to be as good as a Monte 4 either but still.....Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

A cautionary tale: Couple of my mates went on holiday in South Africa and got talked into splitting a box of these by an unscrupulous tobacconist. They brought me one back as a gift and presented me with this perspex tubed cigar. I sat it in my tupperdor for about 18 months before I tried it and, honest, it was far worse than I had expected! Awful, awful smokes.
For cheap beginners smokes I like the H. Upmann petit coronas (tubed, can get from Waitrose or ASDA though not the best conditions) or I was really impressed with the Arture Fuente Exquisito. Cgarsltd and JJFox have budget cigar sections and working through there I've found a couple of gems.
