  • Best new Cubans

Hello chaps. Long time no post!

Well I've been out of the Cuban loop for a while now and was wondering if there are any LE's or RE's that are particularly nice at the moment?

Got to keep the old humi topped up doncha know.

2012 and 2013 have been very strong years for regular production. IMHO far superior to 2010/11

On RE's the Spanish Dips, Italian PL's and Asian LfDC's jump to mind. I am also a big fan of the recent LcDH Hoyos.

        Hey Timbo.... welcome back!

The new Upmann Connisieueuieur A is a beauty....not too readily available at the moment but keep her eyes peeled.

As Monkey says, the Italian PL are worth the hunt.... Outstanding for such a wee stick!

Thanks gentlemen, nice to be back and good to see some familiar faces even if Steve HAS turned into Walter. I've had a fairly s**t year but there is little that can compare with a Cuban when they are at their best. I've just got myself a Gaggia Classic expresso machine so am looking forward to a good cup of coffee with a Party short.

Those Upmann RR's and Conn A's look very nice - think I'll lay a few down for a while. I haven't managed to smoke much but have kept the humidors going and have some lovely sticks in there - couple of boxes of Monty Sublimes, some Dukes, Party P2 No.1 & Serie D Especiales. Just the odd 100 sticks to keep me going anyway!

When I got the boxes I smoked a Sublime and a Duke and preferred the Duke by a long way - but that was probably 3 years ago. I'm very good at not dipping in!

I'm going to try a P2 No. 1 next - have had them sitting there for a couple of years now so I think the time is ripe.

The La Flor De Cano Short Robusto got a lot of hype when it was released and still get good reviews now if you can find them. Monte Grande Edmundo 2010 also very enjoyable, perhaps not as good as the Sublime but not far off...
