  • Did ya get lucky tonight?

I was up to 2k liability tonight but luckily (or otherwise), I didn't win all my bids. Did get the box I really wanted - Mitch's estimate ?500-600, I thought this was seriously under-estimated & bid much higher. Guess I judged it pretty well, stopped ?35 before my limit. Never spent over a grand on a box of smokes before, feeling a little weak at the knees. I do believe them to be rather special though & at ?25 per stick, I hope I judged them right too. Didn't manage to view them myself but did get some good advice from Mitch & going on his previous advice being spot on, I went for it. Photos later once they arrive. Anyone gonna guess which was my star lot win?

I also picked up a box of ERDM DT from '90, I needed one of these as I was down to my last little stick. If I'd known I wasn't gonna win the other lots I'd have picked up the pair.

So did anyone on here pick up Lot No.'s 67,300 & 336? I really did fancy those Punch Panatelas, would be interested in swapping a few if your interested?

nooooo! the punch panas aren't there anymore??

congrats on your other pick ups though!!
a grand/box is pretty intense (and this is coming from one who was thinking a grand was in DOLLARS!! ) so it must've been good for you to lay down THAT much.

Ha, ha, Yes there will be a on my birthday, 6th Dec & I willl be opening the Cab of 50 Boli Coronas Extras from the 70's. I told Mitch that if I won these he wouldn't have to sell them again (this was the second time he sold this cab), as I intend to smoke 'em all, they have been long enough. My best English mate, best Belgian mate & best Greek mate (OK, I only know one Greek) will be sampling these, we'll let you know how they smoke. The third box was R&J Reglias de Londres '07, as a UK winter/ fishing smoke.

            Nobody else bidding last night?

I have had a look through the lots and can honestly say I have no idea! But as a wild guess I'll say some Bolivar Coronas Extras from the 70s? And not just because they are first estimated at ?500-?600 😋

Sounds like your happy with your purchase whatever they are - I hope you enjoy them!

My post was obviously too late - at least I guessed right though! 😊

I wasn't bidding last night but your post has certainly aroused my interest for next time though after looking through the lots 😊

Well done Simon .... some you win some you don't, just the way of Auctions. Enjoy those BCE and RdLs matey, but don't be too quick about smokin' 'em up .... a few years aging should do them the world of good!

I assume you just mean the RdLs? I won't be rushing the BCX but I don't expect them to improve much more over the next 8-10yrs!
