Wow there are some awesome cigars being mentioned.

Have to say Monte A, Cuaba Diademas and Sancho panza Sanchos are all on my hitlist but perhaps in my naivety/newbishness I see them as a slightly different kind of cigar to a hugely wild celebratory one. I suppose that again is part of the beauty of the cigar world, cigars can be all things to all men

If I could find one, and then if i could afford one I would definitely like to try the monte sublime for a great occassion

I've overdone it on Special Occasion singles and have more than I'm ever likely to have occasions.

My poshest looking NC is a varnish coffin Opus X 'A'. In CC I've ED Conde 54 and RA 2008 Phoenicio, plus most of those which have been mentioned already and a good few which haven't .... but as I say I'm probably never likely to smoke any of them, which in retrospect suggests Monte 4s would have been a better idea.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Bought one ages ago when I was a student, intending to keep it for graduation. One day decided to celebrate something by smoking it. Not sure what that celebration was, but it was a lovely cigar. Very little smoke in the first two inches or so, but plenty of flavour. Built up through the cigar.

Think of it like the 1812 Overture - starts quietly and builds into an earth shattering finale that is somehow grand, elegant and perfectly orchestrated at the same time.

A celebration cigar depends on the person and the event. A cigar you use to celebrate a once in a lifetime event is different than one used to celebrate every Christmas. Everyday celebration cigars are slightly better than everyday smoking cigars. Once in a lifetime event celebration cigar deserves once in a life time type cigars.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios for me! Needs time and can't be rushed, pretty strong but never had a bad one. Rich and full of dark chocolate!

Good memory? No Mate, just a good diary listing every cigar smoked since 2004! Wish I had one that went back further.

Ah Simon, you're the best with ideas and comments

I'm gonna start doing that now! But electronically so I don't need to print out every single picture of the ones I take.

I LOVE that idea of having a certain cigar linked to a specific occasion re birthdays you have party d1 '04 etc loving that list and a cigar from the 30's incredible that organic matter can last so long, regardless of storage, brilliant stuff.

You will have to do a review when you smoke that one so at least we can share the experience in some sense anyway lmao

I don't a specific special occasion cigar - for me part of a special occasion is going in a shop/to the humidor and picking one out 😊 In the humidor at the moment I have a box on Montecristo No. 2s I'm saving
