What's happened to my glossy sticks??

Not long back from my trip to Spain, with one or four boxes. When I unpacked my sticks into my humi they were lovely and glossy, now after a week or so they've gone pretty matt. Am I doing something wrong, is there something wrong with my humi?

I'm guessing your RH is lower than what they were stored at previously. I can't give a more educated response, but that'd be my guess. Spanish (and other Euro) retailers can often run pretty high RH IME.

You could always give 'em a light coat of an egg white wash! That'd give them a gloss, au naturelle

Well they HAVE to not mind. When you get to places like cyprus, Gibraltar, and especially Cuba, their humidors either work on nature and just opening up the boxes to the air, eith humidity already at 80-90 most of the time. that. or they'll even have to get dehumidifiers to maintain a good RH

Also, wouldn't egg things deposit sulphur and what not? i just stay away from looks in general, in fact, a few of my sticks right now have scars or torn wrappers. . that's just me though
