  • H. Upmann Epicures OR Cuaba Divinos

So recently, I've been offered a choice of these two cigar boxes of 25s. Methinks it would be $140 for the Divinos and $80 for the Epicures. Which one would be the better buy?

Or should I just not cheap out at ANY on these as they might be complete shite. I mean the H. Upmanns are cheaper than the Guantanamera Cristales! And we all know how good those are, right?

The prices are in about the right ratio depending where they came from. App. Cuban prices would be Divinos $100, Upmann Epicures $45 (depending on year Epicures can be machine or hand made). The Epicure isn't a bad smoke, but the price differential tells the correct story .... the Cuaba Divinos, when they're drawing properly, are the far better cigar.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

I went Divinos too, based on quality and my bias towards a figurado hands down

As Arf says though, draw can be an issue on these little gems, but when they're on point, aaahhh

no marks on the h upmann, the reviews describe them almost as 'bland'!! the cuaba scores alright, 7/10........ from experience these are cracking wee smokes, not earth shattering, but good!! also i'm quite partial to cuaba (love the traditionales and salamones, the 2008 EL is a stunner IMO)!

Just read up on all your advices and Alex's reviews.
That coupled with the fact that my Coronas Junior from H. Upmann left a bad taste in my mouth should edge me all the way towards the Divinos . The figurado shape is also quite appealing......
But that's probably the child in me who's fascinated by different and unique things..

Recent Upmann Epicures have been very good, so I would choose them over the Cuaba's.

The 60-40 vote has got me re-thinking. Also got an offer of Royal Robustos that I can't seem to turn down.
It'll be a busy week for me, for sure! I'll post pictures by Saturday of what I got. Promise.
