I've only tried it once and it loosened up a tight cigar. However, I forgot the bugger was in the freezer and it must have sat in there for a hour and a half, by which time I didn't have time to smoke it. Lol. In my one and only experience, it's a temporary thing as it was tight as the proverbial gnats doodah when I got around to it the next day and it got ditched Give it a go, there's not much to lose

If it's knacked anyway it's got to be worth a go... Next time I'm lucky enough to get one I'll give it a go

Well, I had a tight Party PC Especiales at the weekend. It was young: November '12. I pulled the freezer trick again and it definately improved the draw, albeit temporarily. As with the other one I tried this approach on, the Party soon regained its tightness and observations revealed a plug at about where the band sits. I managed to loosen things up with some judicious pokes up the exhaust end and that helped immensely. The fridge/ freezer theory only seems to help with tight draws as opposed to plugs, which makes sense really.

Trini Coloniales also for me - being a newbie it was the first one i'd come across, and I was hugely disappointed as I was expecting a cracking smoke.
Only one more since then, which was a Fonseca KDT.

Back to the Party PCEs as above. Had about eight from a full box so far. I've half a dozen clipped, hoping they'll loosen up in time. Not a good ratio so far

                  Damn that's most annoying...
From a box of 25, i was lucky enough to get only 1 with a slightly tight draw, the rest were superb....

Had a H.Upman Ltd Ed Mag 50 in Dublin, tight as anything, luckily it was exchanged by Mr Nial Fox (more of which later), who managed to retrive stems & finally on postmortum a wad of over tighly wraped leaf near the botom third. Never had a problem with a H. Upmann myself previously; the second was suberb.

Yes, it's a pi$$er for sure, and I hope the second box doesn't shape up the same way. Mind you, there's not been anything unsmokable yet. I've faith (perhaps fingers crossed) in those I've clipped, improving...

The second cigar I ever smoked was a H Upmann ?petit corona tubo that I bought from asda, felt like I was trying to suck a golf ball through a straw.

Just struggled with the front end of a Fundadore...fortunately it opened up from the 2nd 3rd onwards...probably should have dry-boxed it for a little while...the pre light draw was OK..just went tight immediately it was lit...

Dug out of a trini coloniale with a multitool, it was a bit of a Paul Daniels moment! It didn't smoke that bad after they we pulled out, I only smoked it out of interest
