  • Tight Gits

Reading through one or two, or three 'what are you smoking' threads, I've noticed quite a few tight cigars popping up. Some have even been unsmokable. My stable has lame sticks also, and often just when you really fancy getting down to it. I wondered if members would care to contribute to the Tight Gits thread for a couple of weeks? If you'd like to partake here, please post up the brand of the offending cigar (let's get real here about draws, it's likely to be Cubans) along with any info such as year of manufacture if possible. It might also be worth tallying up how many tight gits we've had in comparison to good 'uns. Just an idea

    Great idea CJ....

I had to clip a 2nd Trini Reyes tonight as the first was horribly tight.

I did read on a forum that you should put a tight stick in the fridge for a few hours before smoking. Not tried this myself but apparently it really works

Yes, or the freezer. I lost one for about an hour last week as it froze its little foot off. I forgot where I'd put it

Right, so there's a tight Trinidad git.

every HDM epicure no.1 i've ever bought has been plugged beyond belief!! granted, in the last couple of years i've only ever bought a total of 5 or 6 singles from various vendors here in ireland!!!! the last one i attempted was about a month ago, bought here in belfast!! i gave up after about a centimeter and took it straight back to the shop!! no probs getting a refund, the ownere then removed the rest of the HDM epi 1's from the humidor!!

so, HDM epicure 1 for me.......

My biggest hassle has definitely been the Punch Punch... over 30 smoked (I foolishly bought a whole box) and every (?) one had draw problems. Due to the poor construction, I've given up on Punch.

I also had a couple of Punch DCs that had to be chucked away... Grrrrrr

Have 16 left from a box of RG Lonsdales that are delicious, but they all have been plugged except two or three.

                  Firstly, what's a git?
My first instinct says it's another word for "cigar" or another word for "cap?"
Secondly. The bloody H upman Regalis, also a few siglos periodically have the tightness problem.... But that's like 1 in 5 or so. No biggie.
And the bloody CAOs. The double corona comes to mind, but that brand in general is awful....

                    Well, along these lines Jeremy;

                    n Brit slang
                    1. a contemptible person, often a fool
                    2. a bastard
[from get (in the sense: to beget, hence a bastard, fool)]

I guess in this instance, replace person for cigar.
