Having not had a single cigar for longer than is worth rememering, (due to the attached picture..) I am going to order a couple as a celebration after my last exam next Monday. Part of me wants to go back to my favourite mag 48 but I want something new! Any suggestions? The punch Deano mentioned earlier is a possibility...

There seems to be a ghoulish apparition on that strip of white on the right. I think you need to get rid of that, bring back some cigar spirits into the love-nest and the future will be Juan Lopez No. 2 I reckon.

Haha right you are! I had the Juan lopes Selection Suprema recently, are they similar?

Ah, you've got me there Sam as I've never had the Suprema. Mind you, our resident JL aficienado Stevieboy should be able to offer an opinion if he cruises through the thread. Hang on and I'm sure he'll chip in.

Hey Sam. They're quite different IMO. The JL2 is quite a strong almost sweet, floral smoke where the JLSS is a smoother, milder smoke. Both are excellent but for the money, the #2 is better

The #2 has been my go-to smoke for about 5 years now. I've smoked more of them than any other cigar....Nothing comes close

Cheers, I shall look no further! Sounds as if i should have tried her a long time ago. As long as it's not going to blow my head off that is :P will see what cgars have, might get a mag 46 too... for packaging purposes

After the recommendations on here I tried a JL2 a few years ago (bloody hell, it was a few too!)

Cracking smoke in my opinion too - not had anywhere near enough of them, but they've been consistently good.

                My thoughts: http://cigarmonologues.wordpress.com...leccion-no2-2/

Also worth considering the VR Famosos, or a Boli Gold Medal if you can find one - good celebratory cigar, and not quite the full slap round the chops of most Bolivars.

                  Congrats Sam.

I will put forward Hoyo epicure especial 1. Middle of the road price wise and similar to mag 48 in terms of sweetness from my experience. Pretty mild too but picks up at the end. Shouldn't knock you off your feet.

Wow great review you give it simon! Definately a winner, will give the gold a try too, I had a bolivar rc which was great til the end where it was too strong for me.. (still smoked until my lips burned!)

Hoyo 1 you say, anything like the 48 is right up my street. Being 800 pounds in my overdraft I will probably just get two tho.. the JL 2 and the hoyo. Sounds like I'm in for a treat!

Now i just need to pass my physics module to justify the reward

                      hey sam,
a word of warning...... i've only ever bought 5 HDM epi 1's, and all have been plugged!! other than the epi especial, i steer clear of HDM's!! so, i must concur with simon...... the VR famosos is one of my go to smokes, as is the JL2, RASS, boli RC and h upmann connie 1!! the bolivar gold medal is a fantastic cigar...... my boxes are from 2007 and they've mellowed out now to a creamy, nutty smoke (they were real powerhouses when first released)!! the best thing is that they are all under ?15........ and are guaranteed to please you!

                      hope this helps......

Ahhh you cruel cruel man Alex!

You've just reminded me of all the cigars I want to try. Still, can't wait to my first try of each! Might need to get work on a seismic ship again to afford all these though :/
