The rumours about the special cigar for Hunter and Frankau's 225th anniversary have been around for a while now. I knew that the cigars had been made in Cuba and were going to be shipped to Britain to be aged for two years as the tradition was way back then.

I got some details last night talking to Simon Chase at an event and now it appears from CA that the story is out in the open.

Britain’s cigar import company has a special Cuban smoke planned for its 225th anniversary. The cigars are already rolled, but they won’t go on sale for two years. Hunters & Frankau, the importer of Cuban cigars for the United Kingdom, has created the Ramon Allones Hunters and Frankau 225. The cigars are being shipped from Cuba to the United Kingdom this spring, but Hunters will age them until the 225th anniversary of the company, which is in 2015. | Cigar Aficionado

I would change just one thing from the article. I have been told that the cigars will come in cedar cabinets of 100 cigars, 4 bundles of 25. This may just be for shipping and aging, only time will tell.

It's sure to be an amazing cigar.
