I hope you're joking ....the blend probably won't be the same. The Edmundo and the PE are completely different. You should smoke both before making such comparisons
Joking...not really, the only crass part of my statement was, in all seriousness, I wouldn't cut the end off a Monte 2..
I've smoked a fair few PE's IMHO far better cigar than the Edmundo.
I can honestly say recently, I've been fed up of hearing the Monte 2 being knocked by some people who have smoked one or two young ones & rubbished it as a cigar...I've smoked dozens..of boxes.. it is & has been a fantastic cigar..Not just IMO but in the opinion of a host of cigar lovers across the globe.
I can understand complaints about recent construction issues, this I personally haven't seen...
For myself I'd rather see a little more effort going into the manufacture of an established great cigar/blend, rather than faff about with another mediocre sales exercise..put some real effort into the Monte 2..up sales volume, lower price, a launch of a new cigar into a linea clasica doesn't really give me a thrill, whereas smoking something tried & trusted always elates me...bring back deletions would be my battle cry...
Got to concur with puff. The monte 2 is a fabulous cigar, but can be average to poor when very young. A lot of people say it about all cigars (which I can't deny) but some definitely definitely need time more than others.
The Monte No2 is my favourite cigar and has never let me down old or new, even very recent, young boxes have been excellent.
Maybe the petit No2 will be right behind its bigger brother....for those occasions when you don't have enough time for a regular Monte No2....
But in all honesty....this never happens..
I had a couple of these and they were gorgeous. Sweet nutty flavours, and better than the Double Edmundo which was just Edmundo-ish. We'll have to wait and see what goes into production though because that can be very different!
