With a maximum duty free allowance of 50 cigars (into the UK) and all the time in the world to shop I suppose I could have done better. If Gabon has a 200 limit thenthe savings are going to be greater - with time to shop.
As you said earlier David... "I would buy the biggest and best Cohibas available until I filled my quotas."

    Cohiba 1966...Gesto's ?1,333.35 for 50
    Cohiba 1966...UK ?1,845 for 50

A saving of ?511.65.. Last flight I took Stansted/Geneva was ?134 return & I didn't look for the cheapest flight....

If it cost you dearly then it's bloody obvious you tried to bring in more than your allowance..so tuff titties on getting caught..

If Davex was to do the same into Gabon his savings would be ?2,046.60 I'd say happy bunny....

I suppose my days of flying to Geneva are long gone so I'll have to stick with a more mundane method of buying. You jet-setters can gather up the true bargains.

If your going to Geneva can you smuggle me back a Breitling from Jean-Jacques...easy..give the box & paperwork to the wife & wear the watch..
Not that I'd ever condone such behaviour....

I would be except for one slight problem, i got the allowance wrong, on checking it`s only 50

Still at least it makes choosing easier; 25 Bolivar Belicosos and 25 Cuaba Generosos, saving of ?360 on UK prices.
Am tempted to ask my mate to bring a few more, promblem here us if he got caught they confiscate(steal) the lot.

Sorry to hear that your concessions are no better than ours. I had imagined Gabon to be something of a haven insofar as duty free was concerned but apparently not - there are worse things than confiscation !

It's really not worth the risk David..someone will go again, maybe not to the same saving extent or even the same selection...so I'd suggest you bought your 50 with the thought that there's more to come & that a trip to gestos which has some aged & HTF stock should be used for just that..Cuaba may not be a bad buy as I can see them, as a brand, disappearing...just a thought...
