Probably not enough draw machines in Cuba to test all the vitola .... so only the better end and possibly a random selection of the lesser end get tested.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

My point is...the retailers in the UK market blame everybody, especially the taxman, for the high cost of Cuban cigars..
That's OK in my book as long as they give the quality THEIR inflated prices demand..& they are inflating price under that guise...
IMHO cigar importation/retailing is far to much of a closed shop..& it's the monopoly on this that has allowed the continuous rise in cigar prices.
I'm fully aware that quality is getting better on construction, though not necessarily on choice of vitola or even blending.
Other markets are continually improving but the UK Cuban market is still getting it's arse ripped out by that monopoly. As will the NC market in this country.
The EMS stamp is probably worth about 1p a stick & whereas they don't hold a gun to our heads they surely love the system that does...

Yes, it does make you wonder sometimes how a box of rolled up leaves can cost more than a iPad?

I once met a Brazilian coffee producer (small, single estate) and he was scathing about the Fair Trade program. That none of the benifits make their way down to the smallholder as intended. Damn that evil H and F

                  Could well be the case.

Can anyone enlighten me on the box dimensions of the especial no. 1. I'm considering a box but may need a bigger tupperdor, I reckon it might just fit, but am unsure.

                          Thanks, puff.

As long as you're working in mm that will just fit. I'm off to Geneva in march for my fortieth and espi 1s are somewhere near the top of the wants list.

Not smoked the whole list of Monte's yet...

No.5's have been the most reliable
                                No.2's the most enjoyable
                                No.4's the most disappointing

I have a No.3 in the Humi bombed in by a generous BOTL. Really must try some of the Especials...
