I'm not surprised by this in the slightest.

I worked out the same for fuel... ?50 of BP get's me further than ?50 of Tesco or Asda, despite the BP (or Shell) being a smaller volume of fuel, owing to the higher cost per litre - thus the cost per mile is quite a lot smaller with BP, so I will happily pay more for a tank (doubtless the better petrol is better for my engine as well). Usefully, there is another factor, called 'smiles-per-mile'. The better fuel takes me further and means my car produces an extra few BHP (only meant to have 110bhp), meaning I can have more fun when the mood (and the road) takes me.

Worked out the same with food long again. Spend more, get less, feel just as full - so always buy the better quality food.

Spill the beans puffy ....an AMG?

I am a sucker for high octane fuel. My car should be good for another 10bhp but I am not convinced.

The biggest rip for me is motorway fuel when you have no choice. I think I paid ?1.51 on Friday.

But then 8000rpm sounds more like a Ferrari?

Audi.... lovely, but it's going soon, had it for a bit over a year, done the princely sum of 514 miles & the dealer wants to give me more than I paid for it...common sense dictates the dosh goes back to the pension pot...
I can't remember any car I've had in the last 15 years being under 250bhp, just like big engines...

              Ahhh ...the V10, stunning.

I was toying with an S6 for a while but could not justify the costs for an everyday car (although I came scarily close).

I made lot's of compromises last year & ended up with a parcel of land & a car...I should have firmly retired..hopefully to put pressure on my Missus to do the same...we were aiming for marriage in August as well as the retirement...huge party planned etc. etc. etc.... instead I was working away the Missus carried on working here & neither of us has had time to see the land yet...let alone drive the car...

I'd love an s6. I was going to get an s4 before I got my a4 but I have a decent weekend toy so I didn't bother.

Once I can afford it, planning on a Toyota GT86. For the money there are quicker, more practical cars available (or even a used Aston Martin V8), but its more fun to drive than just about anything I have ever driven (R8, numerous 911's, couple of Ferrari's) that didn't have a Lamborghini badge on the front (I am a big kid).

Totally bored of low power, wrong wheel drive Ford Focus that really should do better than 37.5 mpg for a 1.6litre engine.

I've got a mk2 golf with a supercharged vr6 engine in it pushing close to 300bhp. It still gets around 25mpg.

                                It's a lot of fun
