  • new for you HdM fans.....

was on the cigar.ie website ( run by one of our own, yiorgos), i noticed this on the 'links' section! i know it's from phoenicia.com/cy (cyprus), maybe ajay will get some in, as it's a la casa del habanos exclusive release:

sure looks good, though not everyone will be thrilled it's a 52RG, lol!

don't think so andy, it's more the petite edmundo size at 52RG x 115 (the petite edmundo is 110mm long)! the petite robusto is 50RG x 102 mm long! plus, for what it's worth it's part of the 'epicure' line...... epi 1, epi 2, epi especial and now epi de lux! sounds interesting.....

That's fair enough and I guess I made quite a sweeping statement, just seems. That in the short time I've been involved in this pastime the brands seem to just throw marketing behind a 'new' range which is actually only minutely different from existing lines- however I understand the shift to 10 boxes, and I get strategy and maybe it's just cos I'm jealous and don't have the funds to keep up.
Either way as a HDM ill end up with some, which means mission accomplished for the marketeers

First time I've seen those, hopefully I'll be able to get a few. Love a short stick, and HdM has always been a fave.

Yes, I wonder what will happen when there's no more Robusto or Hermosos No 4 left to pick-on and every brand has it's own Petit Robusto or Genios?

Take a while though I 'spose, throw in LE and RE and you could carry on doing it almost indefinitely!
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Mine just arrived. Look stunning, great construction. Imho in general the la casa first releases are great. Royal robustos, RA superiories, Boli GM's etc.

For me the La Casa range is not the same as the endless production ranges (or even the EL's). They seem to go the extra mile on blend and construction.

Well, yes they do..a fact that Ajay's mentioned many times, but it's still annoying marketing...what is the point of getting to like a 'de-luxe' cigar only to NOT be able to buy it again...IMHO the industry stinks at present!

I agree but I gotta go with what I like. I don't like (for instance) any of the 2011 EL's ..not for me. I have however bought the LCDH Royal Robusto's on first release. IMHO a stone cold classic (and almost certainly far superior to this years EL).

Do I wish I could just buy a box of regular Epi 1's or Petit Roustos that looked, felt and smelled half as good as these ...of course. It stinks but we have to work with what we have. When I crack into this box in 3-5 years I will be doing nothing but smiling

Whilst I get lambasted for this I will be laying them down for at least 2-3 years before trying. This is my general policy (not always observed) for all new sticks.

My problem is if I taste them young it taints my mind as to what I think of them. I know they will be soo much better with a few years initial ageing (and normally out of the first 'flat' period) that that is when I want to form my first opinion.

It does require effectively buying blind (un-tasted) and then laying down but I am ok with it. Many of my fellow smokers thinks I am mad but I am now at the point where I have a humi full of good sticks to try ...so why spend (my limited) smoking opportunities testing cigars that have a high likely-hood of being 'ok but too young to tell'.

...of course this is all just for me, and where I am with my collection and hobby
