  • Most bizzare smoke.

I have just smoked what I can only describe as the most bizarre cigar I have ever committed to the flame.

A Bolivar No3 Tubo, a small enticing looking stick which I thought would give me a quick fix of some of those classic flavours, how wrong could I be.

The first and second third was what I can only describe as soapy or fairy liquid, being a tiny one I stuck with it hoping I'd get a hit in the last third, to my amazement it finished with a very strong flavour of spearmint.

It has left me totally perplexed, anyone else had an experience like this?

Nice morning smoke, usually Nuts & Coffee, had a few, not had a bad one. You'll have to take your humi out from under the sink!

Bolivar Tubo or Bolivar Trebor ?

Not good to mix those two up.
If you got 'em, smoke 'em !

Hehe Puff, I knew keeping Menthol Cigs in the humi was a bad idea

              You must be going menthol...

This reminds me of a thread I started after having my first Monte PE.

                Tasted like candy floss.

                I got ripped to pieces

I wish I'd bought more than one now to see if it was a batch problem, I remember others mentioning a soapy taste and now know exactly what they mean.

The soapy taste is a known phenomenon that can effect CC's on very rare occasions. I have experienced menthol type smoke on some sticks that have been very loosely rolled.

I've experienced soap on several occasions .... Menthol, I guess is something I've got in store. Oh well!

I've experienced a slight soapy taste but only in a couple of NC's. Never from a Cuban...

One of the mysteries of fermentation/maturation of cigars?

This phenomenon has almost disappeared in recent years. It was quite common in the early 2000s, and I remember people on cigar forums discussing about soap on the roller's hands, or maybe it's the worker who sorts the cigars, and maybe it's not soap but cologne, etc. etc.?? when at that time soap was nowhere to be found in Cuba and certainly not in a cigar factory where there was even no paper in the toilet!
