  • What price aged Cohiba Esplendido

A friend asked if could buy a couple of my aged 12-14 years Esplendidos. They are in perfect condition, having smoked one recently, but I don't know how much to ask price wise. I would have preferred a direct swap but he hasn't got anything worthwile. I know they are about ?30 in the UK for fresh stock. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Depends on how much of a friend they are to you. Anything between ?free & ?40 I suppose. Other factors to consider are - how many of them do have, how easy can you get hold of Espledidos, do you intend on replacing them etc.

This in reality. If you have 1998 - 2000 Espys then you get to decide what the price is, dependant on how YOU value them. Ask yourself what they are worth to you & how much you would be willing to pay to replace them.
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)

one thing you may want to consider is that 12 to 14 year old are cigars would put them right in the middle of the bad years,a lot of cigars from 1999- 2002 are not selling for a premium price

All things considered Geoff I reckon that's a bit high, 34.18 would be fairer I think

I felt mean about selling them to a friend, so in the end I gave him the two free as a present. For the record, they were bought in 1997.

Sounds like you are a good friend to have!

Surely a 14 year old well looked after Esplendidos (providing it was not one of the bad years) would fetch 'considerably' more than a new one which retails at ?30?

But decent uk shops should not be selling new stock all the boxes I have got from jj fox have had at least 3 years on them

My thoughts exactly. For example the old Cuban Davidoffs are selling for ?200-?300 each cigar. So if you take the rarity element out of the equation, the Esplendidos should be worth about a ?100 each.

Again depends year storage etc, and how do you take out the rarity value out of a rare cigar?

By take out rarity value I meant that Cuban Davidoffs are not made any more but Esplendidos are.
