  • Upmann Half Corona tins...

    From Cgars... ?39.99

I'm intrigued tbh. I can see these being quite handy, though I've seen people sneer at them!

I may get some out of curiosity. Call me cynical but would these have been rolled specifically for the size or are they trimmed up seconds?

Worth a try, could be a short smoke alternative, a little stumpy for flavours to develop but @ 44 may come in quick enough...?8 for a half corona though!.....I remember when....................................

Cracking little smoke, if I say so myself. Tasty blend and great for those 'wish I had time for a cigar moments.'

There are no "seconds" in the cuban cigar industry. This cigar is the Upmann half corona, released in 2011 in box of 25…

Ahhh that will teach me not to read things properly. I had only read the tins of 5 were new for August 2012 not the bit above it lol

So.. I buy some Orchant selected cigars & pay a premium for them...doesn't that make what's not selected by Mitch as some sort of second?
And before you say otherwise I would regard his input as part of the industry..

Two tins for the same price in Germany. Not that I'd bother .... they're one of the worst tasting cigars I've ever smoked. And I forced myself into smoking two to make sure. Total crap!
If you want to, you can.

Did you stick 'em end to end to make a full corona? faint traces of mechanical lubricant perhaps?

Bizarre… Mine are from the EMS market and they are incredibly good. You can taste first class tobacco from the first puff and the blend is 100% Upmann.

Don't get me wrong Frank. I'm a big Upmann fan, and I really wanted them to be great. I bought some as soon as they were released .... just didn't happen.

As I said Arf...I read your reviews & there was a mention of WD40....perhaps from the same tin that her indoors lubricates your cutter with...& from a tin..bet that needed a good polishing... .

Can't agree with this Scotty! Just because you can buy superior product, doesn't make the rest a 'second'. Imo anyway!
