Just found this on Trevor Leask's excellent site. Another 55RG 'jaw-breaker' for Linda Lovelace only......

55 gauge? I wish they wouldn't tbh. A thinner gauge is much better flavour-wise imo.

I agree! I've been trying smaller RGs lately: Fundadore, the Italian La Escepcion and the the German Boli Especiales are all(?) less than 40 and a joy to smoke. No jaw-ache

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

I'm not much of a chub chaser. Prefer a slender smoke nowadays...but when I'm drunk I've been know to go for a fatty.

I'll happily smoke both wider and thinner guage cigars, and have enjoyed some 55+, but none of my top 10 smokes is more than a 50 RG. I think that it's a real shame that Habanos seems to want to phase out slender sticks in favour of short fatties!

Still reckon the 2008 Monte LE was one of the best smokes in recent years though.

2008 was a great year for le's the monte was great. Though age hasn't done it any favours. The cuaba, though overlooked by many still smokes great as it did on first release and the d5 only gets better with each day that goes by.

I suspect that I'd also find a 55 just a touch too much like hard work.
