  • COMING SOON: EDICION LIMITADA 2012 H. UPMANN ROBUSTOS

I was checking the official Habanos SA site and saw that the first LE of 2012 is on its way in a few weeks. I love the Upmann range so hopefully these'll live up to the classics!

The Ediciones Limitadas- Limited Editions- of Habanos* (D.O.P) are highly appreciated and awaited every year by enthusiasts worldwide.

They are characterized by vitolas-sizes- that do not appear in the usual range of the brand portfolio portfolio, and they are distinguished by a careful selection of their leaves - wrapper, filler and binder- which have been aged for a period of at least 2 years. The wrapper dressing these Habanos comes from the top leaves of the Tapado – shade grown- black Cuban tobacco plant, and is relevant characteristic that identifies these special productions. This wrapper is usually darker than the wrappers of regular range sizes of the brand.

The Ediciones Limitadas are made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo* (D.O.P), Cuba.

Three Habanos brands will count with a Edici?n Limitada this year: Montecristo, Partag?s and H. Upmann. H. Upmann?s Edici?n Limitada will be the first to reach the points of sale worldwide.

    H. Upmann Robustos (ring gauge 50 x 124 mm in length) is the selected size for this Edici?n Limitada. The Robustos size does not exist in the permanent range of H. Upmann, but it had a great acceptance when launched in an exclusive Travel humidor at Cannes Fair in 2008. The Robustos size is highly appreciated by Habanos smokers. They will now have the occasion to enjoy it within the H. Upmann brand with the special blend and features of flavour and aroma of the Edici?n Limitada.

All the Habanos of this Edici?n Limitada 2012 are made ?Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga -Totally Handmade with Long Filler - leaves coming fromVuelta Abajo* (D.O.P), Cuba. They are produced in small quantities by expert Cuban cigar rollers so as to meet the expectations of Habanos enthusiasts worldwide.

    H. Upmann Robustos will be available in the classic H. Upmann labeled boxes of 25 units. The arrival to all outlets all over the world is expected in the next weeks.

    Commercial name: Robustos
    Factory name: Robustos
    Measures: 50 ring gauge (19, 84 mm) x 124 mm in length
Presentation: Labeled Box of 25 units

Not surprised at this, I wonder if it'll go into regular production. Smoked them out of the leather case that had them and they were superb.

If they taste as good as they look then they will be amazing! Does anyone know what kind of prices these are going to be sold for? Call me a cheapskate, but I object to paying much more than ?15 for a robusto.

I suppose I'll just have to struggle against the urge to shout "?15! For a robusto! Are you fng kidding me!!??" and dig deep into my pockets then.

The ones from the travel humi were pretty push IMHO. Far too light. Not typical upmann. Put me off the lcdh release.

I try to limit myself to only buying one box of LEs or REs a year but I'm torn between these and the Partagas Grand Coronas. Will have to wait for reviews

Yeah, I seem to be in the minority with these. I've still got 4 from the humi sitting...might try one tonight. Didn't you find them a tad mild?
