  • Book Cigars

    Hi guys

Im thinking of possibly getting a box of the book series to treat myself. Ive seen the boli book at a reasonable price in Spain that a friend has volunteered to bring back.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular book or any others?
Are they supperior to the regular line and worth the money?
I know they come in less mainstream vitolas but is there any difference in the tobacco used from the regular line?

I intend to smoke them on special occasions and not hold onto them for collection/investment purposes.

    Cheers

Based on my modest experience: no and no.
Thanks to friends and BOTLs wealthier than me (not difficult) I have smoked 2 Cohiba (Sublimes Extra), 1 or 2 Montecristo (Maravillas), 1 Hoyo (Extraveganza).
I've found the Montecristo weak, too mild; the Hoyo was good but not really better than a DC from a great cabinet; the Cohiba was very good but not exceptionnal.
IMHO these books are great collectors items, but if you plan to smoke them you should put all that money elsewhere?
I can't say anything about the Bolivar Book at the moment, I have yet to read a review?

    Hope that helps?

I smoked a Boil book and it was basically a great big, high power monster that will be approachable in 10 years or so. Will not be looking for another any time soon.

Nb. These are available in the UK for about ?37 each. Pretty cheap for a book edition.

The Partagas Series C 1 book cigars are excellent!!! Probably the best of the book cigars. The only others I have smoked are the R&J Fabulosos....pretty nice smokes but these have not appreciated in value like the Partagas.

I was very tempted in the Party factory shop in Cuba to buy the C1 book... didn't know how they smoked so resisted!

I'm tempted. My concern is that the cigars from the complete book may be completely different from the originals. Could not see any reviews on them.

This, they cannot possibly replicate all of them... and they all blend together (in a single box so to speak).

An item to collect bot of no interest to the serious smoker.

as far as i know there isnt a regular production of the Series C1. maybe in years past but not in the recent years i.e. 90's onward. I can't say which Partagas cigar it resembles most either. May have to smoke one and report back...

Without a garantee that the cigars are from the same batches as those of their respective books, this "mixed" book is worthless or nearly, IMHO…
