I've never really found a HdM that's made me want to go out and buy a box. Petit Robusto was good, but didn't really float my boat. I'll keep trying though.....
Guantanamera, would not even touch one, let alone buy one, and the Jose L Piedra brand, has nothing really worth smoking for me, although i've bought a few, 90% of them i gave away...
I like Jose L Piedras....They're really inconsistent, but when you get a good one it can be a very pleasant (if somewhat one dimensional) rustic kinda smoke.
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.
Im going to add RyJ to my list except from the normal and short Churchills (and even then the shorts are iffy) i just finished a escudo from 07 and it was all over the place with flavours and burn.
Saying that the ones that come wrapped in cedar something 1,2,3 are quite good if not very complex.
So i think ill put them as iffy at best rather than just not getting them at all.
I've tried the SLR Serie A and the Regios and found them both unpleasantly orange. The Hoyo Epicures (1,2 and EE) have an overpowering artificial vanilla note to my taste. Still not really got on with an H. Upmann yet either, and that's after Mag46, 48, 50, PC and No.2! The 46 was OK I suppose...
I'm not sure that there is a single marque coming out of Cuba which doesn't float my boat in one way or another (obviously I'm not deigning to include Guantanamos).
However, I have had more than my fair share of disappointments from Montecristo - they have one or two cigars which I love, but as a rule, they're not my cup of tea. I've also found SLR to be a fairly average line-up, unless you get a good, aged Serie A. Finally, whilst I love a good Rafael Gonzalez Corona Extra, I think their Petit Corona (after a few attempts) is possibly my least favourite cigar I've tried so far (though I appreciate that some people love them - must be a taste thing).
I've never really got on with cuabas, which really dissapoints me as I love the shape :-p. Romeos too to an extent, but the recent heavy gauge releases have won me over a bit.. :-D
