  • OK, H Upman Monarchs and Monarcas is there a difference

Or is the difference just a matter of spelling, ?cos according to the Cuban Cigars Website Monarcas don?t exist, http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/bra...rand=H._Upmann but, accrding to Cigar-Reviews Org they do, http://www.cigars-review.org/cigars/H-Upmann.htm

To be honest I?ve not smoked or ever had either. Monarchs are available from mysmokingshop or CGars as tubos (Green ink on silver aluminium). Monarcas tubos are shown as being for sale (not allowed to say where) as attached. (New style tube).

I've no doubt this conundrum has popped up on here before, but I've not seen it ..... so, opinion or certain knowledge anyone?

    Dear Perplexed of Westcliff.

Many thanks for your letter. Here at Penthouse Forum we get many similar questions from other frustrated men.

We can only advise that sometimes Cuba can be a mysterious mistress and whilst we may not fully understand her actions we can all admire her beauty.

We hope this goes some way to reducing your perplexities.

        As may be Mr Ed,

But why, if they are indeed to be admired, has a Cuban Violet fallen through a crack in the floorboards in an otherwise very much up to date location.

        Still Perplexed.

They are the same cigar; every cigar merchant in the world will tell you so. Cigars-Review.org is full of reviews from people who don't know what they're talking about.
(Upmann "Monarcas", first review (#34): "Same taste as H. Upmann Sir Winston." pfff…)

Just an other mess in Cubataba/HSA's packaging system. I believe no one there remembers the exact name. These people are lost in their own inventory.

Yes, got it, a quirk of Habanos branding lost in antiquity.

Amusing that the Monarcas smokers give a higher rating than the Monarch smokers.

I think this adequately proves that cuba is calling upon the power of the dark gods.

I have never seen a Monarca for sale in the UK and had assumed that it was an easier name for certain languages to pronounce. Monarchs are fine cigars and I don't think they need to live up to their Julieta No2 stablemate, the exquisite Sir Winston. They are a touch more rustic, even with age (I have a box of 03s left), but still provide a satisfying earthy range of flavours.
