Hey guys, I just had my first PSDN4 and was not that impressed, I hear lots of good things on here about them so was really looking forward to it. The first and second third were really really good and I didn't want it to end. Good coffee flavours and earthyness, the final third however began to taste like metal/some sort of chemical so I left it for 2 minutes and went back to it, and more of the same so i ditched it about 10 minutes before the end. I have another so I may rest this for a little while and hope I enjoy that one more. I was thinking it could of been an age thing but its form 2009 so I cant see it being that. I don't smoke very quickly so I dont think that would of been it either. It lasted me an hour before I got rid so would of been about 70-75 minutes in total which I believe is about right for that size. Any ideas what could of been the problem?? James

Could just be a bad bit of leaf. Remember they are hand made products so there is always scope for things to go wrong. Smoke the other and see how that smokes. If you still don't like it move on to something else and re visit this cigar in the future. It is a good smoke and I have not had a bad one.

I'm sure hoping so! I have one more and if I don't enjoy that one I'll leave it for a while before going back

I've only had one, I thought it was brilliant. I went straight back and got three more there and then. They were tubed and are now sat in my humi.

I've just got myself another 5 (non tubed this time) from a fellow Forum member.

I hope your second one is better for you than the first one James.

Ive smoked my way few a dozen boxs of these though i normally go for the P2s and every once in a while you will find one like yours sounds like you got unlucky and hit a dud dont worry your second, thired and 15th box should be a lot better.

PSD4s for me are the most frustrating of all cigars for me. Never really bad but always constantly varied ie spicy not spicy earthy not earthy etc. etc. the quest goes on.

Had my first one a couple of weeks ago after a long break.
Took me 2 days to get back to normal.

I smoked a box previously and loved them.
Never entered my head that there could be a problem, big mistake
It was my first one after a big break and it blew me away.
I have 24 left and they have my full respect now

I'd agree up to about 2006/07 very inconsistant, but since then, they have been creeping there way back up the Ss Chart

I have smoked three of these now and have noticed a difference in taste. Not in a bad way though by any means! Always full of flavour. Will have to get a box now as I am down to only one now and that is not including the LE2010 from smokeydave!

Love these, find them to be very good / consistent. I believe they are one of the best selling cigars globally?
