Although I'm in the USA I completed it and it accepted my answers. While I agree that the survey was on the long side I can see a lot of important information that could come from this. Part of my perspective is that I do research work, including studies on health, so a lot of the questions made sense to me. For example, not a lot is known about how many cigars a day the average cigar smoker smokes, or how much they spend on their hobby. This is important in efforts to show the anti tobacco people more about how we cigar smokers differ from cigarette smokers. There is also a lot of info that will be important in marketing.
The big question is whether the sample will be large enough and representative enough to provide valid information.
I just don't like the format of those kinds of survey questions, eg asking about smoking rollups or cigarettes, I have to answer yes, cos I do, once every month or so out on the piss with the lads, very different to 20 a day man but a yes/no answer gives no room for manoeuvre, like with my life insurance
Thanks to all of you that filled in (or attempted to fill in) the questionnaire. I appreciate all the feedback, good and bad, that you have given and - hopefully - will continue to give us. If you haven't tried filling it out, please give it a shot. There certainly seem to be some recurring issues judging by the comments and I'll personally see that all your thoughts are passed on.
As mentioned in the introductory text, the UK was selected to pilot this project so the more feedback you give the better chance they will have of getting it right before it is rolled out to the rest of the world. It might not be perfect but it is a genuine chance to give feedback about the UK cigar smoker to Habanos S.A.
I couldn't even start it. The first question was about 'do you or a member of your family work in either of these sectors' or something to that effect. I clicked on 'Advertising' and it said I am not eligible to complete it. GRRRR! I tried to then re-start it as I wanted to avoid that question but now its saying 'It seems you have already finished this survey'. I answer honestly and this is how they treat me. Great. Bah humbug!
Whilst there seems to be a lots of negative feed back here I think thats's because we're, on the whole, the sort of folk who are really happy to fill in a survey on one of our big passions and have an interest in H&F and the work it does.
I know that some of you have had more than a little trouble with the survey and appreciate that many of you have already filled, or tried to fill, it out. I wanted to give notice to those that still intend to answer the questionnaire that Vision One Research will be closing the questionnaire down on Tuesday 24th Jan.
Got the email about this from H&F, and started to complete the survey as I wanted to help, but as has already been said it was far far to long. When doing something like this I like to think about the answers so they are meaningful, not just putting down the first thing that comes to mind, however after about 20 minutes I was barely half way through! I've had some experience with compiling questionnaires and usually anything longer than 10 minutes puts people off as they get board!

Long indeed! I took it on an iPhone today, which was difficult enough...but it kept going...and going...and going!
