end of year poll.....

hey all,
was thinking about this over the last couple of days!!! its near the end of the year, the usual thing is to get a poll together listing our favourite cigars of the year! this year it would be good to run 2 polls, 1 listing our favourite general production cuban cigars and 1 listing our favourite special release cigars (EL's, RE's, special aged and las casa exclusives)!

Regular production for me has to be the Upmann Connie 1 and I now badly need to get another box in to sit on until this time next year! 2nd place for me was my '09 Party 898's.

EL is tricky as I've liked a few. Most consistent has been Upmann Mag 48's and I've been getting through them at a rate of knots. But the standout was a Monte Sublime I had waiting out a 5 hour traffic jam on the M6!

Most disappointing was a Cohiba Pyramides.

Sounds like a winner mate. There are always conflicting views on what is considered "best and worst".

One of the best smokes so far this year was at Mitch's auction the other week when we smoked his own reserve Juan Lopez number 2, I am already a fan of JL's and smoke them often but this one was brilliant, full of flavour and a cracking smoke all round

these 2 lists are based on the cigars that i really enjoyed the most throughout the year 2011, based on quality, not quantity smoked!!! as a further note, most of the regular production cigars i had were 2010 stock!!

Tis a dificult pol tho as if you don't give an age range it could cover just about anything!

I smoked a lot more variety this year than previous years but my short list would feature Behike 56, Don Pepin Black Label Cuban Classic Gran Toro and Trini Fundadores. I haven't smoked that many LE or aged cigars but the box of Monty Sublimes I had was great. My most disappointing smokes were 2 Cohibas - the new on the scene 1966s and the 2006 Pyramides. Both poor.

Hmm ok for me standard would be HDM Petite Robusto no competition

For ltd release bit more tricky so:

3. RA lusitanos (French ) or RA Superior

The RA's came from Zig and I have to agree with his placings, lovely, really got on with RA this year

Surprises: Had a wonderful little box of De Olifant Brazil Panatelas which have been fabulous. Unfortunately couldnt seem to find them when I went to Holland again this year. Im not kidding - they were up there with a hoyo in my opinion.
