  • Which Cubans Don't need ageing so much

It's obviously the general consensus that Cubans need at least a little age on them to bring out their best. Having been smoking for a little less than a year, my collection is neither vast nor long aged (a shoe box sized humidor full). I started ageing my Cubans a few months back, and have been buying pre-aged ones while i wait, but the choice of pre-aged ones is very limited.

Just wondering if anyone has noticed particular Cuban cigars which don't need ageing so much, and don't improve much over time?

Well putting my neck on the block I's say R&J's. The better ones of the brands will improve but I have found them prefectly fine young too. eg Tubed Short Churchills.

Depending on what you call not much aging, 2010 HDM petite robusto have been awesome for me ( all of which I bought this year)

Looking for Monte Sublimes if you have any?

Come to think of it, i would actually agree! I had a Wide Churchill one time that was pretty much right off the shelf, and it was gorgeous!!!

I would suggest the Punch Coronation. I bought a few a while ago from the local tobacconists and had one the same day of purchase. Gorgeous smoke!

I second this selection, and I'll add the mid-range Partagas (Mille Fleurs, Corona Junior, Super coronas, etc.)

I do actually remember having a new Partagas Petit Corona which as pretty great as it was.

As it happens, i also last night had a Diplomaticos No. 4 which had only 5 months on it, which tasted really nice. It would have been even nicer if it had been kept at a lower humidity right before smoking (my humidor for some reason has been a few percent high even without a humidifier in it, perhaps because of the weather?).

PLPC. Does well young then seems to go off a bit. Absolutely beautiful when the next winter smoking time comes back around.

PLPC's: I enjoyed my the first from my cab when they were only 18/12 old but they have got so much better, its a shame to smoke them without letting them age. Still if you have some singles...

I've found most Tubos cigars to be good straight out of the tube having said that I find RASCC need only a short time (a couple of weeks) at the right humidity before they're good to smoke.

I've found the Boli Coronas JR's to be good young and only get better with age.
