Was just wondering if anyone had much Italian travel experience? I've decided to take up British Airways offer to get reward flights at half the usual mile rate.
I love Italy, but have mostly been there in the winter, and usually up in the nortern, Alpine areas. Was planning on something a little further south, sometime in October or November. First choices are Tuscany or Rome. So, if anyone has any recommendations for good places to go, or any hidden gems of the accommodation market, please pass them on. I'm thinking specifically of anywhere with a nice terrace for a good cigar, preferably with a great view.

That's the only bit of narrowing down I can offer really (plus accommodation budget of up to ?400 - it is only me after all). Apart from that, anything goes. I have no real plans, other than spending a few days soaking up the Italian atmosphere, wine and food.
