On holiday in Barca at the moment and I have only found one decent Tabac, Gimenos on Las Ramblas. Got quite a few sticks but the selection of singles is quite limited.
Another I visited the lady was shouting at the customer in front when he asked to go downstairs, I assume this was to look at the humi and not a euphemism for a strange spanish greeting, so left quickly.
Last day tomorrow anyone got some other recommendations?

Thanks for all the info guys, got what I wanted and could not recommend Gimeno's enough, went three times. The last the guy opened a box and was not happy to sell me them and gave the smokes to manager and got me a different box to choose from.
Very friendly.
I would avoid L’Estanc Laietana this was the one where the lady was shouting at other customers, I have read other reviews that say the same. Might be ok if your Spanish is more than "si" and "cereveza" like mine.
