Cigars aside. How much spending money is sensible. We've got 1 week b&b, one week all inc. How much should I take for dinner, snacks, drinks and the odd touristy thing?

It's the preverbial 'how long is a piece of string?' question. You could survive on 50 quid a day but then you might find yourself short. If your using your crdit card to pay for cigars ect any other cash will have to be exchanged. I took Euros & changed them at banks & hotels. Sometimes the hotel rate was almost as good, especially by the time you added the cost of getting to the banks. Credit cards will be charged more, depends how you feel about risk. I actually took couple of grand of cash in Euros & kept most of it in the hotel safe. Think we got the best deals this way but of course I could have lost the lot.

a week all inclusive for 2 - i'd bring a grand and expect to be taking some home.

A grand is probably about right- remember to include tips in your calculations though!
