I had my emergency rescue whistle confiscatated at Plymouth airport as it was deemed I might continually blow it, causing hearing loss to those around me. It was a safety whistle & had to go out on a loney Scottish Loch with out it, urgh!

I'm amazed that I can take heavy camera lenses on a flight, they would make a great bludgen. If you want to injure someone then there is always a way, but the jobsworths don;t seem to understand it. Its pointless trying to discuss it as they see you as a threat. I had my bag and jacket x-rayed on a ferry as a foot passenger once from the Isle of Mann. They said it was in case I was carrying explosives. When I made a comment about they cars and how much explosive they can fit in the boot, which were completely unchecked they got a little shitty and pointed out I may not be traveling that day if I didn't shut up.
