Have travelled loads of places but one place I really would like to go to is Malta...can't really put my finger on the reason but I have caried the wish since my youth: is it unrealistic for a Herf or worth looking into?
I think it is very much worth going there, they have one of the oldest and most beautiful functioning walled medieval cities in the world. I think it would be a very cool place to go. In fact there was a documentary on last night "trevor mc donald does the med" or summit like that, there is an excellent feature on Malta.
The missus' Uncle runs a dive school out there so we've booked to go in Sept. I'd be keen to know of good places to go and what, if any, cigar shopping options there might be?
I've been once before but that was about 10 years ago for work and was a rainy & cold few days in Jan, so I doubt I've seen it at its best!
Looked into it a bit more & it's not that bad to get to, fairly reasonable in fact, if SoW is already going in Sept, would it be worthwhile to arrange an few days herfing (& shopping for her indoors).
I've already done more work this year than all of last year so must get out & about.....
I'm booked 9-18th Sept, flying out AirMalta rather than use those Cowboys at Ryanair - accommodation looks pretty reasonable although I've not booked anything yet! Looking fwd to doing a fair bit of diving with the missus and enjoying a smoke afterwards...
Not found a single decent lead yet in terms of buying smokes out there! Keen to know if you find anything out...
The link seems to have parsed itself out of existence Puff... I presume (from what I can see of it) that it was aimed at Tiffany Champagne Bar and Cigar Room. Excellent spot, that looks like a truly top-drawer herfing spot!
Somewhere I've always wanted to visit, a very interesting history to the place. I'll keep my eye on this thread with great interest.
Thanks Simon, thats the place I saw. looks great! I'll do more research & see what I can find out re; definate prices, dates, places to stay etc.
I have a funny feeling I'll go even If it's just SoW, wifey & me & mine! the place is just crammed with history.......
Tippexx - that is a very useful find and well timed too as I'm off in a couple of weeks. Prices don't look to horrendous either and as it's EU I'll be able to pick up as much as the budget allows... I wonder if they'll do singles? Doesn't look like that type of Casa...
