Me and the missus are thinking about going on a med cruise in the summer - nothing def yet.

I was just wondering what the smoking rules are like on board the ships?

Anyone able shed some light on this, can I smoke indoors while at sea for instance ???

    DUE DILIGENCE!

Umm. Muchacho, A few years ago the Coros took a12-day Mediterranean cruise, beginning in Rome and ending in Venice. Fantastic! Highly Recommended!

It was on the Princess Cruise line. There was a decent smoking lounge/bar where one could smoke. We also were allowed to smoke in the casino and our balcony, but not in our rooms. We were told we could smoke anywhere outside, but while watching movie one night on the upper outside deck, some yank complained from the other side of the ship as soon as she saw my lighter spark up. So I was restricted to smoking off to the side of the outside bar at the rear of the upper deck in a roped-in area. I was the only one smoking there - a Cohiba Siglo I - and I felt like a freak show - Cum See The Smoking Hombre!

Anyway, the moral of the story - carefully research the smoking restriction of the cruise line you plan to go on BEFORE you make your reservation. Some lines are more smoker-friendly than others.

Names Perro, el Perro, and I'm at your service.

Cunard's Queen Mary has the Churchill Lounge, on board humidor & prices change depending on where the ship is at the time
Choose from a varied selection of new voyages sailing on our Cunard Queens. Epic adventures in South America, sun-drenched beaches in the Caribbean, the Northern Lights in Norway, or an incredible Full World Voyage. Find an unmissable holiday with Cunard.

        Rules.

Did a short cruise in the Bahamas years ago and as long as you did not smoke in your room there was no problem. I think there are different rules among the different companies, so well worth checking it out.

I went on one last year round Uk, France and Spain. it was all No Smoking in all enclosed areas of the ship. I really struggled getting stogies as well as I found we always docked at the same time the shops were closing for their Siesta so plan ahead for what you want to buy and go there and get them first.

Very good advice Sean My friend went on the QM2 & found a handfull of NC's in the humi, they'd jsut come over tfrom the States & hadn't got any Cubans.
I always take a nice stack of aged with me & if I find anything interesting I'll buy that for later; much later

Have a look at this. Should give you pause for thought...............

                      Cruises

Interesting feedback guys. I was thinking of going on a cruise myself when I leave the Navy later this year (as if I hadn't had enough of the water!!). Taking into account the comments from above, I think I shall definitely avoid booking a cruise that is outbound from the USA - I'm not vehemently anti NC, I just like to have a good choice, and I shall definitely take some sticks along with me. Are any of the foreign cruise lines cigar friendly? I seem to remember reading some article about NCL's new flagship cruise liner and that was going to have a cigar lounge. Nick.
