    hey struth,

    6 X romeo y juieta short churchills (E25 for 3 pack)
    3 X cohiba siglo 6 (approx E50)

that's just for a starter, i'm sure you'll get plent more suggestions!!!

50 Euros doesn't go far in a cigar shop these days - even in Spain.

Others will probably give you details of the various relevant regional editions & their relative virtues (of which your budget might buy 3-5 sticks if you're lucky) . However my suggestion would be for something else hard to get in the UK, but still popular & I assume available in Spain, such as hand-finished, machine mades* like RJ & Paratagas Millle Fleurs or Rafeal Gonzales Panatelas Extras - all of which I think should come in at around or under the 50 mark for a 25 box.

Quinteros too are popular with the Iberians & available for about the same sort of money. They don't rate highly amongst our fellow forumites, although I think they've got a bit of ooomph to them & are a decent "everyday" smoke for the money.

Something else I think worth looking out for over there are Partagas Chicos. The most recent ones I've had, in a 5 pack from over-seas weren't a patch on the mini-dress boxes of 25 I used to get in Tenerife. I think the former are possibly now fully machine made, but still way above any Cuban minis or puritos I've had & with definite Partagas character. If you're lucky & you do get a box similar to those I used to get (in cello, but with a box-pressed appearance) you're in for a real treat. Min Ron Nee rates them as on of his favourite cigars.

[* - I think the Mille Fleurs are classified as HF MM's, the RG Panatelas could be "Totalmente. A Mano" I find it hard to know for certain, but IMO all I've mentioned smoke well - which I think is what it's all about.]

One final thing - I'd suggest keeping clear of Cohibas & other oft faked brands - I've had a few dodgy sticks from official "Estancos"

I assume at that price those are hand made tubos? I'm pretty certain that if they don't say "Deluxe" on the box & tube, they'll be machine made.

I don't know about Spanish prices .... but, for around ?50 you should be able to get a 25 box of Por Larra?aga Panetelas. Since 2002 these have been hand made, they are short filler so, not quite as good as the Petit Coronas but very good all the same .... and a very good sized smoke for the Winter months.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

            hey eugene,
yes, they are the hand made tubos!!! my sister brought me back some a few months ago from majorca (i think)!!! that was the price they were as singles, so a box of 10 may be a euro or two cheaper!!! btw, a box of 25 mille fleurs for ?50 is hard to beat for a beginner (it's been a while from i had an ryj MF, but personally i found them better than the tubos)!!!! mf's come in boxes of 10 as well, so, i'd suggest if possible!!!
            10 X romeo y julieta mille fluers
            3 X romeo y julieta short churchills

that should clock in at around ?50!!!!

            actually,

I was in Majorca earlier this year and found the cigar prices only a bit less than the UK.
I think they've pushed prices up quite a bit over the last few years.
Pipe tobacco was less than half the UK price. A great buy.

Do I change it back to pound notes and make a purchase from Cgars under my control or risk giving my Ma a shopping list and her bringing back King Eddies as it was all she could see

The Eddies are cheap though, about a third of UK prices.
My son bought some cigars back from Greece. Never heard of them and they were all nasty.

I do like the Don Julian No 5's for a good dog walking cigar. Been a couple of years since I last had one but from memory they were pretty cheaply priced and I enjoyed them.
