Only if you go over your duty free limit. 50 cigars per peeple.

No that's why you get a tax free allowance of 50 cigars. The VAT claim back is a separate scheme to encourage tourism and spending.

In short got to Cigar World for the variety. Duty free is feeling like a gamble now a days, depart on the right day and there will be some good boxes to pick up, but in general it will likely be a bunch of Cohiba and Trinidads that no one wants. 😂

Last time I looked at Schipol duty free they were asking in the region of €750 - €950 for Cohiba Panatelas, Siglo 1 & Exquisitos. Partagas D4s even were going for €660. Absolute madness!

Madness yes, but D4’s still £200 cheaper than UK prices.

Just a note of recent experience. The shops in Spain will give you a Factura form. At the airport, they demand a DIVA form.

I did ask a shop for a DIVA form. They didn't know what I was talking about!

I've given up asking as I always get blank looks... Spain, Germany, Belgium...

If you're going to Düsseldorf you should pay a visit to Cigar world. Large friendly shop and lounge. Got no idea about the customs forms as I never bother with them. Stick the boxes in my case never had any issues.

Do we know how far back can you claim ? Let say you went to Swiss and bought cigars then you have left cigars there in the keep. Two months later you go back to collect and at the airport will show receipt from to months for the exact cigars to claim tax back. Will this work ?

Sorry haven't got the faintest idea. Personally I've never claimed, always seems a lot of faff.

I've tried to claim twice but I had the old form. The shops didn't know anything about the new forms. It's all a bit of a joke TBH.

Factoras are no good now. You need a DIVA form.
