Anyone been Mexico recently....I read somewhere that it's very difficult to smoke there, most places around the resorts are non smoking etc.......going next week. I'm hoping this isn't the case.

Any one had any recent experiences?

I can't help you there but I have heard that even the genuine shops are rife with fakes so be aware

We visited Caucan on a cruise, I went to the LCDH but didn't trust it so didn't buy anything. Had heard that recently fakes had been bought there.

There is someone i watch on YouTube who has done a few videos about shops that he trusts in Mexico and does video tours of them (yes I know how sad I am ). In fact the Mrs and I were having a look at Playa Del Carmen and I checked how far away the cigar shop he recommended was away from the hotel!

Maybe check out his channel which is called Cuban Cigars and Anime.

Nowt sad about that, YouTube is a valuable source of information and entertainment. It's a must watch if you're considering a cruise for example. That's how I discovered that the next ship we fancy trying has a cigar lounge!

Wouldn't go on a cruise that didn't have a lounge.

I've been a couple of times in recent years, but before the smoking ban. I have read it isn't strictly enforced but I guess that depends where you are.
The guy in the LCDH in Puerto Vallarta (Pacific) was really good. I messaged him and he kept several boxes for me.
The guy in the LCDH in Playa del Carmen (Cancun) was an arse, though he may well have moved on.
Plenty shops selling Mexican cigars. They were OK and cost £9-£10.

fortunately those pics are pixelated enough to hide the pricing otherwise i think eyes would be watering anyways!
