A friend of mine is going out to work in Tel Aviv for a while on and off. Any good cigar shops there or at the airport duty free?

I was there 2,5 years ago.

Mucho dinero for cigars over there.

I went to a shop in Tel Aviv and one in Jerusalem.

They had a decent selection at both shops.
When i was there, they still had the RA Petit Robusto RE from 2011. Way too expensive for such a small cigar so only bought 10 singles. My guess is they might still be around

Didnt have the time to look around at the airport, they interviewed me very thoroughly before i was able to LEAVE the country. Nice guys over there.

Hi Steve, thanks very much for your help and information. Much appreciated. Doesn't sound like a great experience for you at the airport. I might be better off getting my friend to check out the selection at Schipol on the way back.

        My pleasure Neil.

Oh well, i got out of the country so not that bad.

Schiphol might indeed be a better solution, although i fear stock will be very limited

My neighbour has been picking up a few things for me there over the last few months. It's a bit hit and miss. He did manage to get me a box of RASS and QDO 50 a while back which I was very surprised and pleased about!

Love the RASS! Great pick up. Personally not the biggest dan of the new qdo

As a regular visitor to Israel, although not for the last couple of years. I can say there is a growing cigar culture there, I quite often visit a shop/lounge just of Gordon Beach attached to one of the large hotels, whose one escapes my memory at the moment. There is also a shop in the marina. And several others I haven’t visited.

There is an Israeli Regional Ramon Allones, but they are quite rare now. Although I managed to pick up half a dozen last time I was there, just before the pandemic.

              Don’t expect any bargain prices.

Thanks Jeremy. I have thought about going out for a holiday and visit while my mate is working there, I'm sure it would be a fascinating place to go.

Well worth a visit. Don’t restrict yourself to Tel Aviv though. Tel Aviv is a vibrant lively city, caters for everyone, liberal and integrated, be you a Jew Arab Gay or whatever takes your fancy. But it’s also with visiting Jerusalem, Haifa and more historic sites and places than I can name. No restrictions on anyone, although all religious sites ask you to be respectful
