  • Has anyone travelled through Brazil recently?

My best mate works out there, he’s currently on a vessel but will be passing through Rio airport on his way home soon. Any ideas what the prices and availability is like?

He did say the airport was expensive. Silly man said he would treat me to a bottle of whisky last time as it was so cheap it was only when he got home he realised it was priced in dollars and not reals. He passes through Schipol too so will ask him to check there.

Never been to Brazil unfortunately but have been through Schipol more times than I care to recall & I can recommend their selection but prices only good if travelling outside of Europe. Not sure if that finally mean UK? Hopefully it should & therefore he could bring 50 over for you.

          Yes it’s Rio-Schipol-Newcastle.

He’s just picked me up a box of RYJ Mille Fleur, from Sao Paolo airport. 25 for $200. Never tried them but willing to take a punt at that price.

The other choice was Regalia des Londres. Slightly dearer but he put me on the spot and I’d never even heard of them.

RyJ Mille Fleurs are decent smokes, good value for money as they smoke for 60-80 minutes for me. Did you get the year?

                  What these!? https://mokacigar.com/product/por-la...al-cigar-2010/

Hope you like the MF. They are in the budget range and you got them way cheaper than UK price. Let's see what you make of them. Not tried one myself yet.

Mille Fleur are a really nice little stick IMO. Of the ones I've smoked I always got a really nice floral note from them.

If only! The RYJ RDL! He just sent me pics from Schipol. Strange but a box of Monte Cristo no4 are €60 dearer than the RYJ2. They have always been slightly cheaper in my experience. I’m done for now anyway, he will be travelling back through Schipol in December so I’ll probably take the plunge then.

I didn’t but I’ll probably get my hands on them tomorrow. I’m a bit relieved that I will have a regular supply of affordable cigars now. I’m not a huge smoker. Maybe 1 a week give or take. Sometimes not even that. If I can get stocked up with 200-300 they should last me a long time.

I can’t pick them up for a week. Will they be ok in the sealed box until then?

Ask him to wrap the box in cling film. They will probably be over humidified from duty free anyway so should be fine regardless.
