Presumably in both cases you can get cheaper at airports duty free?
    Hi Vanbobbie,

    Sorry for late reply.

Prices in canary islands are not as fixed as in spain mainland, there is a price list that shops need to Apply.

In Tenerife prices are approximately the same but you will surely find some variations.

Prices Tenerife compared to mainland is therefore a difficult one. A number of items will be cheaper in Tenerife for sure, but it happens as often that its the opposite. It will be much cheaper than uk and most of the other european countries for sure.

As for the prices in the Duty Free, i dont really know. As the selection is always very limited, ive never bought there. If you ask me, duty free is slightly more expensive than normal shops but im not sure

        Hello,

I've been considering going to Tenerife sometime later in the year (Sept/Oct) not least because there is a LCDH store there and of course, the beaches and sunshine!

Has anyone been to the LCDH or has visited Tenerife recently and can tell me if it's a smoker friendly place?

I'm very much the kind of person who loves sitting outside with beer/coffee whatever and watch the world go by with a cigar on the go. I'm hoping that I can do the same in Tenerife without too much hassle and if I can sample cigars in the LCDH there so much the better.

(I'm sure I could put in a joke about not sampling any Trinidads or Cohibas, as that might cost the same as the flights and hotel, but that would be cruel)

So if any one has any info to share, that would be very much appreciated!

        Thanks

Hi, I am in the Tenerife lcdh right now, smoking in the outside lounge.

This LCdh is located in a small shopping mall. The store is of course inside, their lounge is lets say 50 meters further outside. If you order a drink, the waiter of one of the bars (not linked to lcdh) will bring you. A bit funny but it works.

The selection is ok, you can find quite a lot of regular stuff. The manager of the shops had decided not to display their collection of Trinidad and cohiba yet as they are still talking to canary importer Cuba cigar in order to determine pricing strategy. A bit late according to me as other shops have already increased prices and are displaying all Trini and Cohiba they have.

The manager is cuban, he seems well connected and is very knowledgeable. Hope that when you are visiting the manager is around as the lady that is assisting him knows quite a bit less and only speaks Spanish, she is very friendly and helpful though.

If you come to Tenerife, don’t forget to go to osor2 as well. Info at the beginning of this thread as their selection is quite a bit larger. They have BHK ( at crazy prices) linea doro and a few other special things, on top of a larger selection of regular prod.

Saw some montecristo Supremos in a shop in Playa de las Américas as well.

In terms of cigar friendly smoking places, you are lucky. During COVID, it was not allowed to smoke on outside terrraces or bars and restaurants. Since a few weeks these rules have been cancelled.

A nice place to have a smoke is the Loft in Playa de las America’s

          Hope this helps.

Yes, that post was incredibly helpful!!

As a further couple of questions (not just to Haaltert), what's the Duty Free selection/range of cigars like at Tenerife South Airport? And where would be the best place in Costa Adeje for New World cigars?

                  Thanks!

Duty Free currently is nothing. No cubans at all, not even a petaca. Only Vegafina at the AirPort.

I am pretty sure the best place for NC in the south of Tenerife is Osor 2

Just back from Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. Managed to stop by Amber in town, run by a knowledgeable father and son who spoke good English and seemed really happy to talk to someone with an interest in cigars. Two big humidors, mostly local brands but some nice NCs and (unsurprisingly) just a small selection of Havanas.

I purchased a box of Partagas Petit Corona Especial from 2018, a nice selection of Davidoff including 4 Escurio robostos and a cheap 10 box of corona sized Nicaraguans.

They had a few decent singles as well as a nice box of Upmann 2- not a cigar I get on with so I left it for someone else. Worth a visit if you need to stock up but probably not worth a special trip if you have other options closer by.

Just back from Tenerife and all the airport duty free had was a few packs of Vega Fina and some Davidoff Demi-Taste. Osor in Los Cristianos was a joy though. They had plenty of Cohiba if you can afford the price, a box of Monte Lyendas and several boxes of the new RyJ Linea d'Oro I think its called. They also had regular stock as well, I picked up a box of Connie No 1, a box of D6 and a ten box of Short Churchills for £598. I also got a second box of D6 and a box of HUHC for a friend.

Lots of Cohiba, Trinidad & Monte 1935..... No surprise there. It's obvious that Habano SA's decision to pump up the prices isn't working all that well. At the older prices, I'll bet none of those sticks would be sitting there
