Cayo Romano and Cayo Cruz is a promising fishery opened a few years ago. Max Sardi of Farlows fishing tackle shop came with Cuban Fly Fishers on the first trip and called it Permit heaven. Big bones and Tarpon are also found there. Anglers stay in the Hostal Brasil n the mainland.

Yes, we took a few internal flights on our last trip there. Fairly hassle free, possibly not one for really nervous fliers though, as the aircraft are old (all the cabin signs were in Russian on our twin prop from Havana to Isla de la Juventud!) and as a result everything rattles a little more than usual!
