Hi Kickback, it's possible some cruise lines don't have a cigar lounge, I don't know any that are smoke free. They usually have places outside for the fag smokers, on other Mm SC ships I have been able to smoke cigars outside too but for some reason not on the Splendida. Except for the last night when I sneaked onto the stern for a crafty Divinos, as I enjoyed the warmth of the Dubai night air.
On the last night, we went out into Dubai & watched the water fountain & light display by the Burj Khalifa. I had a rather special smoke lined up for this perfect occasion, a 1980's Cuban Davidoff No2. The usual debate is considering how soft/faded these now are (they were considered mild back in the day), are the worth paying the crazy prices they fetch today?
Well taste is alway subjective & we all have different limits we'd put on what we are prepare to pay for a single cigar. The Davidoff 3000, I smoked at the Hotel Nacional, was worth every penny, a truly amazing smoke. This was amazing & smoked at home in the shed/garage, then it could have been under whelming but it was the right cigar for the situation & a splendid memory to treasure.
So that brings me to the end of this saga. My wife is already looking at other cruise & certainly has it in her blood now, gard to believe for the first 10yrs of our marriage she was seasick crossing the Chanel ferry! This trip of several thousand miles, she had to early nights, when she insisted the ship was actually rolling.
Personally I won't be cruising for 2-3yrs at least, will want to see how they deal with future illness outbreaks onboard. If one passenger gets sick & then the local ports start refusing entry &or insisting on quarrentine then I'll be sticking to hotels.
