Extremely rare risks like this are not factored in to business operating models. If they were the prices would go up to customers and the business would lose market share to their competitors who don't factor the risk on their costs.
Who knew this was likely to happen months ago?
I would have expected cash holdings to be the way these things are factored in. There's only so much buffer they can hold ofc.
Which makes it all part of the good service!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
Hi Folks! Well that was a Mystery Cruise to be sure. We didn't visit half of the ports advertised & had a couple of extras thrown in. Spent 6days sailing, not calling into Colombo or Cochin, so now even my wife has crossed an ocean.
But even after the cruise things haven't been straight fwd, as regular readers of my tales would expect. But of course none of our lives are normal at present.
However, I have had to leave my wife (against our wishes) & now staying with my Daughter Dearest, waiting to return for work. Full explanation & of course the full story behind the cruise & as I have at least a week stuck here & maybe two, if plans to go early to work to cover a colleague, who is in lock down in Cech Rep fail.
To help me survive, I managed to grab a box full of cigars to tie me over. Here's my selection of aged & vintage shorter smokes, that I hope to enjoy if the situation arises to enjoy them.

First try at uploading pic's from the cruise. Apologies for the delay but technical problems at work. Here is one of my highlights, mid [emoji1128] Ocean, smoking a discontinued Boli Regentes '98, before dinner on a gala night, with two regular visitors to the cigar lounge. A splendid time indeed, aboard the MSC Splendida.

Ha, they were rather charming. The lady one my left was a Greek, living in Norway, with two kids at Uni, who decided to have a new career two yrs ago & ran away to sea. Very interesting story, was due promotion, now probably just hoping to keep her job.
