F#@$ Cambodian exit security. We have flown twice on internal flights in Cambodia, with know issues, both times I had a cutter and lighter in my hand luggage. This time on leaving for Vietnam they decided to be thorough and decided not only were "blue flame" lighters not allowed on board, but also cigar cutters?? The lighter I can understand but a cutter?? Especially a Cuban cutters one with a back and little hole to stick the tip of a torpedo through. Oh well an expensive lesson, fortunately I have another cutter in my luggage and I hope another lighter. In all my years of cigar smoking, never had an issue when travelling [emoji853]

Ouch ...that one reasons why I always pack my cutter...and take a travel lighter on holiday or those disposable flame jet lighters

Sorry dude. This is the trouble when you get used to a routine.

Hopefully this will save someone else losing theirs.

Usually the authorities have the discretion to confiscate. Pecked in checked luggage is always the above I've read recently.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I usually check them as well, but we're travelling about so much changing hotels every 2 - 3 days I completely forgot they were in my back pack.

This happend to me recently as well, I only had carry on and they took the cutter but let me keep the cigar lighter. On the way out I was fine leaving the UK but on the way back it wasn't. This was an EU return flight. I didn't know it was an issue having a cutter when travelling and was a bit pissed as it was a fairly new cutter.

my family has had all sorts "stolen"

i live in NI and get regular visits from Scotland.

                transparent plastic water pistol (child)
                birthday pint glass
                zippo
                wedding photo frame?
                sausages!
                list is endless

ive personally only had the blade removed from a razor on the way home

this is after the troubles, before that we joked we went through customs naked. even had a camera and photos seized. lengthy questioning and was pulled off a plane about to take off.

then... i posted a thread here asking if i should risk my perfectdraw

ETA. daughters friend (20) had fish oil capsules taken. she had a massive tub for a weekend stay. bampot!
