As you might have guessed I’m in Andorra skiing with my daughter these days.
Before we dig into the cigars, be adviced that SPANISH regulation say you can bring 75 sticks into Spain from Andorra, - I haven’t yet crossed back into Spain, but I believe customs to be quite fierce.
There are 4 “major” shops in La Vella: 2 Cigarshops, 1 la Casa Del habano and les 1000 Pipes. Furthermore there are two shops in Pas de la Casa on the French border, 1 Cigarshop and I can’t remeber the second one, this second one also has a shop in Encamp.
So here are a few facts of the moment, that of course may change from day to day:
Cubans are the cheapest outside of Cuba, period
The shops are all pretty small, but have good regular stock
Regular stock is there in abundance, even 50 cabs
Cohiba is there in abundance, and they just got loaded with huge Siglo VI 2018 stock
EL’s are scarce- no Talismans, Soberanos, and even La Trovas (LCDH)
LCDH’s, hmm the regulars, but as I said no La Trovas, no Escogidos etc.
NO RE’s from outside Andorra
Quite a lot of Andorran RE stock. Most are still here in abundance - some as you know has 3-5 years on them
No vintage stock (to my knowledge) I didn’t check every box, but I asked all over and the answer was a shake of the head
There are a few caves in some of the big duty free stores, but they didn’t have much, but you might be lucky
@PeeJay, a LOT OF Opux X and special collection boxes too
Tip: if you want to come to shop only for cigars and more than 75 sticks/person, book a small place to stay in Seu d’Urgell and go back and forth as many times as you want - you can shop the whole bugger load in la Vella in the morning and have it all stored in the shop and go back and forth -I’d say you could do 4 trips in a day. Good luck hauling
