  • Paphos, Cyprus LCDH

Last night on a bit of a whim I booked a holiday to Cyprus, flying this Saturday. After booking, I promise , I looked at cigar shops in the area and noticed a story from a few years ago showing in detail the LCDH in Paphos.

This place looks like a real gem, or used to be at least so I wondered if anyone had been there recently? Or anywhere else in Cyprus that?s worth a visit?

Someone picked up some aged Portagas Lonsdales in Cyprus, I hope they'll speak up for you

The LCDH in pathos is good, or at least it was the last time I was there, nice selection of stock. But the LCDH in Larnica duty free is the best duty free shop I know. I think their owned by the same company/person.

Oh it was me that picked up the lonsdales I've also picked up aged Punch Royals, Hoyo Des Dieux and Du Douphan on trips. It's a hem if a shop.

Ah the motherland. Not been back for almost 10 years! I'm due a visit!

We usually stay in the other side of the island, Larnaca. Where there was a tabacconist somewhere near the police station.

Nicosia might be another option if you go for a visit. Tobacco House Cyprus, 20A Constandinou Palagiologou, 1015 Nicosia.

My brother in law stocked up at the air port last time.

But I presume the LCDH might be your best option. I'm sorry and ashamed I'm so out of touch!

That sounds promising then, I’m not flying into Larnaca so I think the duty free might be off limits but hopefully I’ll find something interesting elsewhere.

              Thanks for the info.

I got some great stuff home from Nicosia during x-mas via a friend, and heard Paphos should have an even greater selection. I was a peacekeeper there years ago, so advice is to be sure to visit the monastery of Kykkos - great place, tranquility and clean mountain air. Enjoy.

TRy to avoid fried foods. A lot of restaurants nowadays tend to fry food. Rubbish, charcoal grill and the home made stuff. As usual perhaps get off the beaten track. Get a traditional Cypriot Souvla (lamb slow cooked on a spit) and try a medium (metrio) Greek coffee!

If we're talking Cypriot food definatley go off the beaten track, avoid the really touristy places. Find somewhere full of Greeks that does a fish meze, sit back, relax and spend several hours enjoying the food and local vino.

Thanks Simon, it’s a bit of a short selection as I need a bigger travel humidor. I couldn’t fit any Lonsdale in unfortunately.

Its a Petit Corona, I’ve not smoked one from this particular box yet and had forgotten how dark they were.
